Professor Max Munday - Associate Member of BRASS
Career Experience and Qualifications
Max is Director of Welsh Economy Research Unit & Reader in Economics. He is an associate member of the BRASS Centre. Max joined Cardiff University in 1990, and is an Associate Member of BRASS. He is an economist whose main interests are in regional economics and policy, and the economics of the multinational. He has undertaken research work for a range of organisations including ESRC, European Union, Forestry Commission, WDA, National Museums and Galleries For Wales, Cardiff County Council, Arts Council and National Assembly for Wales. Max's first degree was from Brighton University (Business Studies) and he completed a PhD at the University College of Swansea in 1988 examining Asian manufacturing investment in the Welsh economy. Prior to joining Cardiff he was a lecturer in management at Gwent College.

Research Projects
Max has most recently been involved in the following research projects:
- 2004-05: Cardiff Input-Output Project*, to develop input-output tables for Cardiff County Council together with tourism analysis and environmental satellite account extensions.
- 2004: “ABP and the Welsh Economy”*, economic analysis of port activity, for Associated British Ports.
- 2003-04:“UK First Steps Tourism Satellite Account (TSA)”, to develop a pilot TSA for the UK economy, Department of Culture Media and Sport.
- 2003-04:“English Regions First Steps Tourism Satellite Account”, to develop a pilot TSA for the English regions, North West Regional Development Agency.
- 2003-04: “Crown Dependencies First Steps Tourism Satellite Account”, to scope the data for a TSA for the UK Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man, IOM Treasury.
