Economic Globalisation, Ecological Localisation and the Agri-Food Sector.
Career Experience and Qualifications
Emma graduated in 2007 from Swansea University with a BSc (Hons) in Geography (First Class). Her undergraduate dissertation was focused on Organic Food and the goal of Localisation with specific focus on cheese production. To gain access and insight to vital information about the workings of organic production Emma worked the summer of 2006 at Jubilee Organic Farm in Kent.
Following this Emma gained a distinction in the MSc in Social Science Research Methods at Cardiff University as the first year of her 1+3 funding from the ESRC. She is now working on her PhD in BRASS taking forward ideas from her MSc dissertation based around local food markets.
Research Interests
Organic food production and supply chains; local food production and marketing; current agricultural issues, importance of space and place with regard to local food.
