BRASS Research Projects
The BRASS Centre takes a truly interdisciplinary and integrated approach to its research, and this means that while there are a substantial number of research projects, they fit together to provide comprehensive pictures of problems, issues and solutions in the key focus areas.
Projects also link together through transfer of knowledge, theories, concepts and ideas. Researchers are encouraged to cross fertilise through joint authoring, seminar and conference presentations and research focused discussion and debate. Much BRASS research gains added value through the use of data, analyses and publications from other BRASS projects, and this is reinforced when research projects engaging a large number of researchers in the Centre are carried out.
Business relationships, accountability, sustainability and the social responsibilities of business are all huge themes, but BRASS’s research is focused on the most important dimensions of the developing CSR and business sustainability agenda. The research reflects nine research areas:
1. Business Impacts, Regulation & Management
2. Resource & Technology Management For Sustainability
3. Making Progress Towards Sustainability : Measuring, Reporting and Learning
4. Responsible Management, Governance and Leadership
5. Sustainable Consumption and Marketing
6. Sustainable Lifestyles and Communities
7. Towards Sustainable Food
8. Towards Sustainable Mobility
9. Rethinking the Future for Sustainability
BRASS Centre research provides a range of high quality research outputs including papers in scholarly journals, articles aimed at informing practitioners and promoting best practice, briefing papers aimed at informing public policy makers, reports, guidance for businesses and others, seminar and conference papers, data sets, literature reviews, web based advice, media targeted outputs and many other academic and practitioner based outputs.
These pages provide comprehensive detail on all BRASS research. The highlighted box on the left lists ten project areas which cover the BRASS research agenda. By clicking on a project area you will see a drop-down box appear, listing the projects held within that section. Click on the project you wish to view. If you are looking for a particular project but are unsure as to which section it sits in, use our search facility at the top of the website.
