Poverty, Environmental Risk, Stakeholders Intergration and Business Responsibility
Aims and Objectives
Three key issues are raised:
The importance of uncertainty as a dimension of most ‘risk assessments’ carried on in developing countries
Reinforcing Communities’ adaptive capacities in a context of democracy and freedom is one pathway towards sustainable development
Sustainable business performance requires changing business mindsets in terms of their strategic approach to poverty and environment.
The project is carried on through a network of researchers from 7 universities in UK, Spain, Argentina, Boivia and Venezuela and has got funding from AECI ( Spanish agency for Iberoamerican cooperation) to undertake an initial mapping exercise, identifying hotspots in terms of vulnerability and environmental degradation.
