Delphi Study
Delphi scenarios focus on 2012, and contain statements covering different topic areas such as:
- Consumers will have to opt-in to, and pay extra for, regular paper-based communication (e.g. bills & bank statements)
- Consumers will demand carbon offsetting for the delivery of their mail
- People's decisions about their diet will be directly informed by environmental impacts as well as health
- House builders will compete on the basis of the energy efficiency performance of their new homes
- Consumers will seek out various eco-labels, e.g. which identifies ethically sourced paper (on both virgin and recycled)
- Citizens will have personal carbon allowances (or carbon credit cards), e.g. permitting a set number of short haul and long haul flights each year
- First class rail travel provision will decline due to capacity issues
- Non-recycling will be a criminal offence
